We will be reading thirteen sonnets and five plays in this course. The sonnets include: 1, 6, 12, 15, 18, 20, 55, 93, 116, 130, 135, 136, and 138. The plays, representing all four of the genres in which Shakespeare wrote, are: A Midsummer Night's Dream (1595-96), Richard III (1592), Hamlet (1600-1), Othello (1603-1604), and The Tempest (1611). I have provided links to many of these texts on the web; however, all of my references will be to the printed version in the required text.
