Hemispheric South/s Research Initiative

Hemispheric South/s Research Initiative, in partnership with The Black Scholar (TBS), is pleased to present all three installments of the Social Justice Handbook Series. The handbook consists of articles recovered from the TBS archive and include writings by prominent thinkers such as Maya Angelou, Hortense Spillers, Carl Dix, Assata Shakur, and others. On the instructive potential of the series, Stephanie Batiste writes: “Histories of analysis and activism, of effort, change and failure to change remain instructive in various ways to our times. As we gather virtually, in the streets, accrue votes together in the polls, and gather in spirit, we insist on and pursue just change towards equality of safety, survival, and opportunity.”
