The Honors Seminar is a one-term course in which we do two things. We will read great examples of what non-fiction writing can do, and analyze how the authors do it. We will also develop each course member’s research topic and project plan for the term in which they will be researching and writing their senior thesis. This term, we will read portions of the following books: Privilege: Harvard and the Education of the Ruling Class; Dreamland: The True Tale of America's Opiate Epidemic; The New Prophets of Capitalism; and The Uses of Literature (Rita Felski).
