How does the title of the paper catch your attention? Can you think of a better title?


Introduction:
Does the introduction give a clear indication of the paper’s purpose?
In one sentence write the paper’s thesis statement here:
Is it clear and focused? Interesting?


Evidence Paragraphs:
Give a single sentence title to each of the paragraphs in this essay:
Are the transitions between paragraphs smooth?
Is each paragraph clearly related to the thesis?
Does the thesis logically follow the evidence in the paragraphs?
Does the author spend too much time on his/her own emotions?
Are literary terms used correctly and for a reason?
Does the author analyze his/her work to make a point or offer opinion?
Is every idea supported by quotations and examples from the text?
Is each paragraph unique, avoiding repetition?


Quotations:
Do the quotations support the thesis?
Is each quote critically addressed and explained? Properly cited?

Conclusion:
Does the conclusion appropriately restate the achievements of the paper?
What does it offer beyond a summary?

References and Extra Credit:
Are the paper’s references correctly cited in MLA format?
Does the paper include extra credit?
