Maria Job is pursuing her PhD in English at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She holds an MA in Literature, Culture and Theory from the University of Sussex, and a BA in English from the University of Madras. She is interested in the ‘bio-techno-political’ intersections between plants and commodity culture in literature and new media post 1945. Her plant commodities of interest range from peanuts to synthetic grass to virtual/digital plants. She welcomes proposals for creative/critical and/or pedagogy-oriented collaborative projects.
