Ryan Leach is a PhD student in English at UCSB. His research engages with the fields of media theory, dh, and science and tech studies. Before coming to UCSB, Ryan received an MA in English from Georgetown University, where his thesis focused on material representations of book-death (or book-obsolescence) in contemporary speculative fiction. He has worked on the WE1S project for the past two summers, focusing primarily on incorporating broadcast tv and radio news within the WE1S corpus.
